Rob grew up in Fredericton, New Brunswick, graduated from Wycliffe College in Toronto in 1996 with a Master of Divinity degree, and served as a pastor before joining the staff of SU as Director of Program Development in 2003. In May 2005 the Board chose him to oversee the work in Canada. He is married to Christine and they have two children, Marianne and Timothy. His interests include reading, guitar and following the  Toronto Blue Jays.

His passion is equipping children and their parents to read the Bible, meet Jesus there, and grow in their relationship with Him.

Bob grew up in Toronto and followed his athletic dreams into the New York Yankee farm system, where he played third base. After injury ended his career he worked for Bell Canada for 21 years before joining Athletes in Action, where he served as Eastern Canada Director from 1995-2005. He has coached many high-level baseball and hockey teams and is currently an assistant coach with the Durham College men’s baseball team.

Bob’s passion is equipping Canadian and International churches to reach children and their families through sports, so that the good news of Jesus is shared and children are invited to follow Him for life. Bob is married to Lesley and they have four children, Matthew, Melissa, Ryan and Robbie.

Joan Giesbrecht: Having begun with SU in 1997, Joan is our longest serving staff member. Joan serves as our Senior Administrative Assistant.

Andrea Zak: Andrea has been with SU Canada since 2000 and as Business Manager handles the Office Manager and Accounting function.

Becky Boone joined the ministry in 2008 and works as the Administrative Assistant for Bob Johnston and SU Sportz.

Diana Minion: Diana began with Scripture Union in 2008 and is our Receptionist/Administrative Clerk.
